Mini Aussies are a very special breed, one that stole my heart long ago. Although, they are not for everyone, so please do your research before welcoming one into your home.
Mini Aussies are a full size dog, wrapped up in a neat little travel sized package. They can go all day with the big dogs, no adventure is too much! These dogs are unwaveringly loyal to their family, and will be protective if the situation warrants. These dogs are fantastic companions, will go all day in the mountains and then have a nice off button at the end of the day when it is time to snuggle on the couch and watch a movie.
Mini Aussies are a highly intelligent breed. Mental stimulation is as important as physical exercise. A good daily training routine to work your pups brain will be very beneficial to her mental state, and a 15 minute training session will probably be more effective at tiring her out than all day beside your bicycle! Mini Aussies have the ability to excel in a wide variety of dog sports- disc, agility, herding, etc just to name a few. Most towns have small recreational sport clubs, and I strongly encourage all puppy owners to check one out! They can be a lot of fun for the dogs, and a great way to make new friends for the handlers!
Early socialization with these dogs in crucial. When given the right start, mini aussies will be the life of the party. However, they do have a tendency to distrust strangers, so get out with your pup right away and meet as many new people as you safely can!
Here at Diamond H Ranch/ DH Aussies, we are very committed to producing quality pups that are extremely healthy in body, mind, and spirit. Puppies are raised in the living room and will be very used to all the normal comings and goings of a busy household. We have 3 kids, aged 11, 7, and 3. The kids cannot keep their hands off of the babies, and spend as much time as they can with the pups every day. We also have immediate family of all shapes and sizes, men, women, beards, glasses, etc, that will come and go so different looks should not phase these guys when they meet their new families.
We follow the Puppy Culture program with our litters. Early Neurological Stimulation will happen between 3-16 days, for more info please click the link below. It has been proven to be greatly beneficial for the mental and physical well being of puppies. . After 16 days we will enter the next phase, where manners and attitude will be our main focus. I will try to expose the puppies to as many things as possible so that their transition to their new homes will be as smooth as possible. This will include: exposure to a dog crate, car rides, some basic commands, exposure to collar and leash, and lots of play to encourage curiosity and bravery! Of course the above listed items are "goals" and not guarantees. Every puppy is different and progresses at different rates. But I will do my best to prepare these puppies as much as possible for the big, scary, exciting, loving, fun world they will encounter when they go to their new homes! I will update with photos and videos as we progress in all of these areas!
Puppies will visit the vet at 7 weeks old to receive their first vaccinations, microchip, and health check. Puppies will be ready to go to their new homes at 8 weeks old.
All of the puppies produced at DH Aussies litter will have full tails, and dew claws will not be removed.
Puppies will each go home with a puppy starter kit that will include:
Puppies may be pick up at a 3rd party location in Williams Lake, or we can deliver to Abbotsford. We are not flying puppies at this time.
We will provide an opportunity to meet the puppies at a safe third party location when the puppies are 6 and 7 weeks old. This is to protect the biosecurity of our farm, and to discourage puppy theft (it is an unfortunate reality that we have to consider this risk).
In addition, we will be posting (at a minimum) weekly photo and video updates of the entire litter. This will include, individual and litter photos, playtime videos, updates on puppy growth and development, and will do our best to accommodate any special requests as well. Please also visit our Facebook page for additional photos and litter updates.
If you are interested in reserving one of our puppies, please contact us and we can discuss what might be the best fit for you. Please note, all puppies are sold as Pet Only (no breeding rights), unless a special exception is made.
$500 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your puppy.
